While you're all still keen on dyeing stuff... what about a coat?

I have a navy cotton trench. Parts of it are sun bleached and it needs refreshing, but it's really heavy and it was expensive and I don't want to ruin it.

I've dyed stuff before (grey jeans darker grey and black jeans blacker) with excellent results but a big heavy coat? What will happen?

Try two packets of dye if it's really heavy.

Presumably, you're not going to wear it in its present state so all you've got to lose is the price of dye.
If it goes well you'll have your lovely coat back.
If it doesn't work out, well you wouldn't have been wearing it anyway.

I'd just chance it.

Good luck.

I think I'll have to. I do wear it as it is but I can't pretend it's ultra smart any more, and I need it for work.

But then there's navy and navy. Next to other navy clothes it looks quite purply. Unlikely to be the same shade as Dylon navy.
