I currently use Philip Kingsley but it doesn't seem to have the same effect anymore. Can anyone recommend anything similar. Thanks in advance. Smile

Loreal dandruff shampoo. It's advertised as for men. Black bottle, orange lid. It's pretty identical to Philip Kingsley except for the price!

Thanks. I'll give it a try x

Right, I've tried the loreal and it's not working for me. Suggestions welcome. Thanks

If it gets really bad as mine does ( I have tried all sorts!) Then I use alphosyl for a fortnight, it sorts it out, and then I go on a search for the unobtainable perfect shampoo. But mine really gets bad :(

Just bought some Neutrogena TGel Theraputic Shampoo for DH. Soooo effective! Thoroughly recommend for dry, itchy scalp.

Roseformeplease · 07/10/2014 19:50

I am on the Neutrogena Extra Strength a and it is working with very bad itchy, flaking.

Agoodbook - my scalp gets very sore and itchy. I must itch in my sleep then I get little scabs. It's very painful. The Dr gave me some horrid shampoo that smelt like tar but it didn't help. I am getting desperate now Hmm

Have you tried Capasal shampoo. It worked brilliantly the first bottle I used, but not anymore. May work for you. Does smell of coal tar though.

Someone on here recommended Body Shop Ginger anti dandruff shampoo a few weeks ago. I bought some and it really works - I have had chronic dandruff / dermatitis for years and I'm very impressed!

T/gel works well in our household

Brillenbar · 07/10/2014 20:20

I don't get on with MR Kingsley, but aveda scalp benefits works for me. T gel is also good for scalp but I find it dreadful for my actual hair

Eliza22 · 07/10/2014 20:20

I think with very itchy scalp/psoriasis, coal tar preparations are key.

Timepasses - it does smell horrible- my scalp flakes, but won't shed and ends up sticking my hair together in clumps near my scalp, and I have very thick hair so its a nightmare! So it may be different problem... hope you find something that works. Years ago I used to use PolyTar but don't know if its still available
