best foundation for sensitive/acne prone skin

Hello
I have suffered with acne prone skin for years and its really hard to find foundation that is OK to use without ending up with big painful under the skin lumps around my mouth and chin.
My acne is hormonal and it's moderate so not too bad, I hot cloth cleanse and use benzoyl peroxide and a matifying moisturiser. But I have used so many foundations that leave my face a mess and I have to chuck away.

I've tried MAC, Rimmel, Maybelline, Bobbi Brown, Max Factor (that was the worst, just made me lumpy!), Clinique (supposed to be acne clearing but made me bright red), Bourjois.

Weirdly, there's a Boots 17 spot-clearing one, dirt cheap, that was absolutely fine, but the finish/coverage not great at all.
I'm quite pale so need one with a good ivory shade.

I've heard Dermablend is good but don't know if its good for covering blemishes as opposed to being gentle on spot-prone skin .

Am off shopping tomorrow so please if anyone has any ideas I would be so so grateful!! Thanks Thanks

Dermablend is nice but very full coverage. It looked silly on me as a foundation, so I only used it on the bad bits.

I like Diorskin Nude, Ester Lauder Double Wear Light, Laura Mercier oilfree tinted moisturiser.

I suspect the Clinique one had salicylic acid in and that you reacted to that.

I use Bourjois Perfect 123 as it doesn't irritate my spotty skin; comes in the right pale colour for me; the green tint helps when I have red spots; and it's often on 3 for 2 or some other offer.

Otherwise, Chanel is the best I've ever used, but more of a pre-children budget...

i discovered that part of my acne was related to a skin reaction to makeup! Bare Minerals has kicked that into touch.

Hello, I would recommend looking for a mineral based make-up bare minerals is good but is a bit pricey, a great British make is a company called lily lolo it's fab. If you really need to go with a liquid Dermalogica ultra sensitive tint is a really nice base and then apply the lily lolo over the top. Avoid things like Mac and Chanel etc they suffocate the skin. You should also be working to help the sensitivity with your skin and the barrier function as well as the acne. It can be a catch 22 but make sure your really hydrating the skin and gently exfoliating once a week with a none abrasive exfoliate, if you don't exfoliate dead skin cells become trapped causing more breakouts and if you don't hydrate properly (not just drinking water) the skin produced excess oil to over compensate.

Sorry for the lecture! 5years+ working with skin!

Xx
