Best vitamin for glowing skin/hair?

As above really! I remember reading a thread about Vit D ( I think) being excellent but not sure I am remembering correctly! Or whether I should go for a multi vit or fish oils...

Am 36, 3 kids - just want to look a bit fresher! Diet not too bad, I try to keep refined carbs low food wise, but I do admit to drinking far too much red wine. I definitely need to cut down on that.

Can anyone recommend please? ThanksSmile

I think cod liver oil would be the best. My nails and hair are particularly shiny the day after taking some.

And too much alcohol will dehydrate your skin and hair - my skin is always flakier with a hangover!

Don't know about manufactured vits but check what ones you are getting through your food. This would be the first place I would sort out. Lots of oily fish, avocados, nuts, protein, water and other healthy fats. This definitely plumps out skin and makes hair healthy. You really are what you eat Grin

Thanks - I usually eat loads of avocados and salmon, but have not done so the past few weeks as I have been away. Will start back on that And trying to drink more water too.

Keep the recs coming pleaseSmile

Be wary about taking one particular vitamin/mineral on it's own as a supplement (unless prescribed by a doctor or a qualified therapist) as they can displace each other and it can create imbalances in the body.

Best idea is to take the best multi vitamin/mineral you can afford along with some EFA's and a pro-biotic (that's a good basic supplement regime).

Partly marking my spot since I'm interested too. I take a multi vitamin, vitamin D spray, cod liver oil and evening primrose oil.

Hair is dead and so its more about how you treat it than what you put into your body isn't it?

Good skin is mainly dependent on lots of water and limited alcohol, sun and sugar.
