Have I got uniquely wonky legs? And can I get jeans to repair them?

I am an extreme pear, like size 8 (even a 6 on skinny days) from the waist up (I'm a 30B bra and 26 inch waist) but with big old bottom half, especially legs - definitely a 12 for trousers or if I was buying knickers I'd get a 14/16 as I hate elastic cutting into me. I am generally ok with all of this as hey, woman right? Have borne two sons, wear a lot of skirts and a-line stuff etc. It's not the bum and hips, that keep me awake, nor even the thighs (which have gone up and down over the years and really aren't horrendous, just generous). No, it's the knees down that bother me. I am the only person I know who has calves fatter than her shoulders (almost). I have no ankles. High heels help a bit but there's no getting away from the fact that I look a bit like a melted candle. Jeans are dreadful on me - if they get over the bum, they gape at the waist and they always look puddingy around the knees.

I long to wear a nice, modern and not mumsy pair of jeans that will make me feel young but all of the 'corrector' jeans I see are about bums and tums which is all very well but then they corrugate at the knees. Is there anything I can do? Or should I just stick to the skirts?

You sound similar to me. I find that slim fit jeans work best - they look like skinnies on my calves... My current favourites are the Next lift, slim and shape slim fit in indigo.
