Please help a tall lass find a new wardrobe!

Hoping you lovely people can help. Have got two DSs and am just about to go back to work after DS2. My whole shape seems to have changed (wider hips and boobs but small waist) and I am nearly back to my pre-pregnancy weight (about 11 stone 9, I am 6 foot, size 12) and I have some money saved (about £1000) to spend on a new wardrobe. I am after some causal stuff and a few key pieces for my office job. Any pointers? I have quite long legs (34in - 36in) and like easy to keep clothes (read no ironing/minimal!) I used to shop in places like NEXT and Long Tall Sally but the stuff there doesn't float my boat anymore. Thanks!

I have 34 inch legs and only seem to manage Next for trousers as other longer lengths don't seem long enough. There must be other options!

pinkflaming0 · 25/08/2014 21:15

Gap Tall is good but size down. I am an 8 but sometimes need a 4 (yes, really!) in their Tall range.

I'm just under 5'10" but with similar inside leg and have never got on with Next due to their waists being too big and hips too small. Gap suits my shape much better so you may have luck there.

PostladyPat · 25/08/2014 21:45

Thank you. Keep forgetting about Gap :)

the only dresses I can get in and look ok ( as not too short and I can wear with tights instead of leggings) and Im 5ft 10 are from Whistles or French connection, trousers and jeasn I get from Top shop/gap...cardigans All saints....I find it really hard to be honest..Im tall size 12 but got bum and boobs and cant get anything in most high street shops as way too short :(

Fizzyplonk · 25/08/2014 22:01

ASos tall have some good stuff.
Look at all the tall things blog too

Longleggedlovely · 25/08/2014 22:57

The tall things blog is all about being pregnant at the moment tho which is rubbish if you're tall and not preg! I tend to wear dresses to work now as its easier. Jeans are from new look, top shop, gap or lucky brand.

peasandlove · 26/08/2014 08:21

I am your height/size and I wear mostly dresses to work. Shift dresses type thing that are fairly fitted. They can be dressed up with jackets. Ive had good luck with Armani Jeans for dresses/jackets if you want a more investment piece. They are cut quite long.

what about something like this
or this
i have one like this and always get compliments on it bodycon
hobbs jacket here

Esprit do jeans and trousers in different lengths - certainly up to a 34", not sure about a 36". They also do half sizes in waist measurements. Their workwear range is also pretty good value for money!

Bakersbum · 26/08/2014 13:48

I need a 36" leg and get my work trousers from Zara, they're also pretty good on sleeve length too.

laurzrah · 26/08/2014 15:43

Dorothy Perkins has some good tall bits!

PostladyPat · 26/08/2014 17:02

Thank you all! peas those links were fab! Think I will get that Hobbs jacket now! I like Zara but sometimes need a 14 as find them a bit neat. Need to get some spare time to shop now! Have any of you used a personal shopper service in John Lewis?

I live in semi-smart Jersey dresses from Dorethy Perkins (online only) at work, but I'm in a no-ties office so fairly casual.

00roversreturn00 · 26/08/2014 23:03

Look at Baukjen, online place. I only discovered it recently and it's my new favourite shop for tops, all their t shirts/vests come up long and wash well.

123Jump · 27/08/2014 05:38

Was also going to suggest Baukjen. Their dresses are long and they do extra long essential vests etc.
I think I have a 15% off code somewhere...but it is downstairs and I'm upstairs....Grin!
I think a personal shopper would be ideal. I've seen people on here recommend the JL ones.

Passthecake30 · 27/08/2014 06:58

Another 6fter here, size 12 (but shrinking to a 10 with vanity sizing). For work autumn/winter I live in dresses too.....I have the pointe shift from LTS, a couple of shifts from Very (tall range) and a next Tall range one. I like the stretch cotton shirts from LTS, and also round neck cardis from next tall and dp normal range with them.

For spring and summer I love the next slim leg trousers. I have found a couple of tops in peacocks that are long enough, plus sleeveless patterned tops in next (tall and normal)

I wear LTS chelsea jeans and next tall grandad cardis for casual. Need some new casual t shirts so am currently on the hunt. ...

Fed up of struggling to find clothes just to replace the knackered ones I currently have.

Not sure about a personal shopper in a shop that doesn't cater for our height tbh??

Passthecake30 · 27/08/2014 07:18

Just checked out Gap....are the Tall inside legs really only 32"??
