Random Q of the night : toenails...

Hi,

I have gel polish on my nails (done at a salon not DIY) and they have lasted brilliantly and probably could do with either being filled in or redone but I could really do with cutting my toenails like now DH has mega scraped legs from sleeping beside me for the last few nights

Will the gel peel off or anything if I cut my toenails as I've no proper varnish remover to it properly if it does and I'll be wearing sandals tomorrow. I think I remember the nail tech girl painting something clear around the end of my nail???

To trim or not to trim that is the question?

I trim from time to time if I cannot get back to salon in a timely manner and it's fine.
Maybe not a perfect finish but good enough.

Do NOT peel the gel polish off - I ruined my nails doing that last year and it took blood months to grow out.

I would trim and file but be gentle. They are also more likely to chip once you have done this as you have broken the seal on the top of the nail but they will be fine for tomorrow!

Thank you, have gently trimmed my big toes hoiked out my ingrowner RELIEF and think the rest should be ok.

They are in good condition and have very little regrowth so hopefully should do a bit longer if the big ones stay intact.

You know when you want to ask a slightly random question and turn to MN instead of RL because it's bloody better be well that was one of them
