Where to buy work trousers - mid priced?

I need some new trousers for work, nothing particularly fancy, black or grey and preferably not entirely synthetic.

Everything seems to jump from under 20 quid to £90+ was hoping to spend around £40-50ish but there doesn't seem to be anything in that price range. Am I looking for something that's not there?

Gap?

Or Banana Republic?

Next had some lovely balck wool suiting last summer

Next sizes have gone crazy, I tried on some size 8 trousers there in the week and they were on the large size - measurement wise I'm firmly a size 10!

Gap didn't seem to have any non-casual stuff in last time I was there, will take a look at Banana Republic.

Oh, and I don't do dry clean only

How does Banana Republic's sizing compare?

I buy my work trousers from next. I bought a pair of short cropped trousers and they are gorgeous and fit beautifully. I am a 12.

I agree with the sizes. I had to buy a 12 long in a pair of cords out of next as the regular were way too short!!

I've got a great pair of cropped trousers, wool and fully lined (found in a charity shop) but I've spent the past week freezing and realised I don't have anything in the way of full length trousers. I had to use safety pins on my interview suit trousers this week and keep my jacket on.
