Soft jersey, cashmere kind of thing. Boyfriend jumper, skinny jeans occasionally. I'm 42, not small, a 14-16 but am in the middle of a successful so far diet to get to 12. Good legs, apocalyptic stomach.

Any idea of shops to go to? For some reason i'm thinking Scandi stuff too. A little quirky. I want to go into middle age with some style. Please help?!

Try toast, poetry, Wrap london??? Massimo Dutti, Cos.. All online. Not sure about scandi stuff...there is always Gudrun sjoden but you need to choose selectively. They do a lagen look. [ layers ] They have beautiful prints. As for cashmere..its not my thing really. I have kids with sticky fingers!

msfreud · 23/08/2014 18:10

Wrap London, Hush, some Uniqlo. TK Maxx often has knitwear in this style but it's obviously very hit & miss with stock changing constantly.

foxinthebox · 23/08/2014 18:11

Not heard of Wrap London, Cos nor gudrun sjoden. So i will go and have a gander.. Thank you!

The White Company have great drapey jumpers.

Phase Eight have some good stuff too.

Really interested in this too and will take a good look later at these sites. Thanks OP for asking Smile

I watch Yong Kim fashion sometimes on QVC (only because Ingrid Tarrant presents the line) She raves about it being soo comfortable, Dress Up/Dress Down.

But it looks like she's put a wrinkled bag on and covered it with a even more wrinkled tablecover. It's not flattering (and it ain't cheap )

Definately try Uniqlo (though the sizes are a bit unflattering. I'm a 14-16 top half and got some T-Shirts in large, jacket in X-L . But only I see the label )

TwoInTheMourning · 24/08/2014 09:06

I want to re invent myself to pull off soft layers too and look chic and expensive without looking like I've tried to hard. Try Jigsaw too.

callamia · 24/08/2014 09:13

Cos for sure, white company cashmere is ok (gap cashmere is also good for the price), I've just discovered how lovely and soft French connection jeans can be too. I wasn't expecting them to be. Jigsaw also has some good jersey pieces that aren't quite as expensive as their other stuff.

CountBapula · 24/08/2014 09:19

I find the quality of Hush absolutely fine. Definitely the best label for this kind of look. Baukjen also good but £££. I used to buy a fair bit from Wrap London (before I discovered Hush) but it's incredibly expensive for what it is and I found the quality variable.

Try having a browse round Atterley Road for Scandi labels.

foxinthebox · 24/08/2014 16:29

Wrap London and Hush order made. Getting bang on trend, me. Thanks so much for all the recommendations!

Fox have a look at Sandwich Clothing. They are from the Netherlands and do lovely drapey clothes which are fashionable too.

Jackpot is another Danish brand that is lovely and Part Two Clothing, again Danish.

Sahara is a London based company but does the drapey look very very well but is very expensive.

FrancesHB · 24/08/2014 17:33

La Redoute do fantastic drapey cashmere mix for not much ££. Otherwise another vote for Hush. And don't forget M&S but they often miss the mark slightly.

lovingmatleave · 24/08/2014 17:46

Add Inwear clothing to the lists above. Think they are from one of the scandi countries.

MilliCariad · 24/08/2014 17:48

Loving "Inwear" and "Truly" are both Part Two makes. I love them for their masculine tailoring but with a very feminine edge and clean lines.

MilliCariad · 24/08/2014 17:59

My mistake. Very sorry loving of course "Inwear" are not Part Two. I was thinking of the wrong thing.

Sweetasstevia · 24/08/2014 18:04

Have you tried Baukjen - they do expensive lookingJersey clothing and they have some good sale items ATM - I particularly like this: www.baukjen.com/uk/m/baukjen-sale/dresses-sale/paola-knit-dress-iris-blue-melange.htm

foxysocks · 24/08/2014 18:15
