Where to buy slim age 5-6 jogging trousers?

I bought dd (age 7) some age 5-6 black jogging bottoms for her PE kit from M&S. They are lovely in all imaginable ways, perfect length, soft, comfy... Except width ways you could fit 1.5 of her into them and they fall straight down!!

Can anyone with a very slim athletic child recommend where I can get something more suitable?

I buy my sons tracky bottoms and most of his trousers from hennes, quality is not always the best but they suit his tall, skinny shape, plus most of the trousers have adjustable waists.

I find yoga trousers fit my dd better, they're slim in the leg & flare out a bit. I got some from sainsburys.

I have this problem with dd2. She is nearly 6 and very slim. I find Primark to be quite slim fitting. DD can wear a 4-5 there where as in other shops that size falls right down on her.

happyis, are you on the 'what things do you call their old name' thread? Wink But yes - Hennes/H&M best place.

GerbilsAteMyCat · 23/08/2014 19:07

H&M and Next are quite good.

WaxyDaisy · 23/08/2014 19:14

Thanks, that's really helpful. Yoga pants would look great on her, but sadly the uniform is jogging pants.

Ha ha/lol KatherinaMinola I did read the thread earlier! and debated whether I should write Hennes or H&M but couldn't bring myself to do it!

OP don't forget to look in boys section, the fashion for boys is slimmer fitting trousers so you might find some being sold as "fashion" rather than "back to school"

I've just bought these for my 5 yo DS. They are very slim fit.

MissBeehiving · 23/08/2014 20:52

Saw these too and they were slim fit too.

Pancakeflipper · 23/08/2014 20:54

My DS1 is super skinny. Successful joggers that stayed up have been Gap and Matalan.

HermioneWeasley · 23/08/2014 20:56

My DS is the same. I have to get adjustable waists. next have some and H&M but obviously that's the boys ranges.

RandomMess · 23/08/2014 20:59

Gap, Primark, H&M are usually okay. It is a nightmare having super slim dc IME

RaisingSteam · 23/08/2014 22:17

We get ours from Next - the basic ones that are about £8. If the elastic isn't tight enough, I pull the drawstring in across the back and sew it at the side seams, so only the front is elasticated. She can't possibly be thinner than my DS!

I bought my tiny, super skinny 7 year old some from Next the other day and they fit her really well.

AtlanticDrift · 23/08/2014 23:56

H&m do a nice slim leg

WaxyDaisy · 24/08/2014 07:18

Thanks everyone! It's really great that she's fit and health, and she would look fab in a appear bag, but sometimes buying clothes is a pain! I have ordered some from Gap and H&M.

Zara does gorgeous slim fitting track suit bottoms too. I have always struggled with my skinny DD too and have found these the best so far.

Beckamaw · 24/08/2014 10:25

H&M, Gap and Zara, definitely the best.
