Should I get my hair dry cut?

Having moved I now need to find a new hairdresser. The one in our village costs £29 for a cut and blow dry but only £15 for a dry cut. Should I give it a go? I have fine, straight hair just longer than chin length. Not precious about it but do need to look professional. Have googled dry cuts and the results are promising!

If this place is in your village, could you wash it at home and go to the salon with it wet, thus getting a wet cut but with a dry cut price tag? You could ask ... they would surely be arseholes to refuse.

I don't know anything about the wisdom of dry cuts in general, I'm afraid ...
