Anyone tried Japonesque Power Curl Eyelash curler?

These seem to get some rave reviews but then so do Shu Uemura curlers and I can't say I'm massively impressed by them (although they are the ones I am currently using).

Essentially, I want a strong curl - a really dramatic look rather than a natural look and I want eyelash curlers that fit the shape of my eye so I can get to the base of the lash in the corners as well as the middle of my eye (shu uemuras aren't very good at that). And ones that don't pinch (s.u. also a bit rubbish for this). Can anyone tell me if these might be worth a try? Any other recommendations are also welcome!

I find that the eyelash curlers with that shape are all more or less the same - they might just have a different curve around the eye, but they all curl the lashes in the same way. I used to have one where it was more rounded and it pinched me all the time.

I have a normal one (like the one you've linked, just a different brand - it has a good shape for my eyes) and then a Shu Uemura S-curler for the hard-to-reach hairs. The S-curler takes some getting used to, but it does curl those hairs that are harder to reach with the normal (and bigger) curler.

There are also the battery-driven heated curlers - they look more like a mascara wand. I haven't tried them myself, but I'm sure there are reviews online.

I've tried the s-curler and was unimpressed by the results but then I do like a really dramatic curl and for that the eyelash needs to be curled at the base and stick straight up during the curling. With the s-curler there is nowhere for the eyelash to go - it can't stick straight up due to the metal above it in the s-curler. I used to use ELCs by the brand red and they were great but a) I can't find them anymore and b) they had a spring which really helped get a dramatic curl by seemingly creating tension/pressure but the more you used them the less tension/pressure you got so I had to replace them several times a month which became quite expensive!

How about getting a lash lift instead?
