Shops which give independent advice on the best Foundation (preferably London)

Ladies, help me!

I need a style and beauty overhaul as I'm starting a new job soon and don't know if I'm using the best foundation for me. I'm quite sallow skinned, and also have a couple of darker post pregnancy pigment patches so need at least a medium coverage which doesn't slide off oily skin. I've tried Mac, Shu Uemura, Armani, Nars, Bourjois, so across the price range, but never discovered the 'holy grail'.

If I go to a normal department store, I won't get independent advice. The Clinique counter will recommend the best Clinique, the Dior counter the best Dior, and the the Bobbi Brown counter will give me a makeover which leaves me looking curiously orange (happened to me twice now, I can't understand why it's such a highly rated brand).

Is there anywhere / anyone in the London area where I can visit and get to try out lots of foundations across different brands and get some solid independent advice?

Thanks!

What about Space nk? They have a reasonable selection and the advisors cover all the brands.

Thanks, I'll try there. The assistants all look intimidatingly glamorous though and I'm a scruff!

Also going to say space nk!

I have just started using Georgio Armani luminous silk and it's really great.

I'm lucky as I go to the USA a lot so shop in sephora. I don't think there is anything like it in the UK.

SpaceNK. Occassionally they have a make up artist who will do everything for free and recommend products. I was lucky to pop into the Islington store one when the make up artist was there and he spent over an hour chatting to me and trying products on. I am still using and re- buying some of them.

I was intimidated by the glossy glamourous space NK ladies but they did a great tactful job of showing me how to cover up a bad outbreak of zits one day, it's not all about preening already glossy customers. Thumbs up to the Bournemouth store.....

Another recommendation for Space NK.

That blinking shop is like a siren call for me.

I used to go to the one in Stratford upon Avon and the consultants were great and very happy to dish out samples.

Space NK... yes! Particularly the Soho branch, everyone is lovely in there!
