Large shopper/tote similar to Le Pliage but cheaper?!

I have a big leopard-print nylon beach bag from Marks and Sparks which is brilliant as carry-on luggage, as it fits another couple of bags and assorted plane paraphernalia in it and will also fold up and be packed away if need be.

It is, however, about as stylish as me circa 1997 (i.e., not at all).

I know Le Pliage aren't exactly the epitome of contemporary chic but believe me, they beat my leopard print beach bag. Has anyone seen anything similar but cheaper? Or should I just "invest" in a genuine one? It needs to be fairly hard-wearing so maybe ebay cheapo is not the way forward...

Funnily enough, I was coming on to say M&S do some good Pliage-alikes. I'm tempted by the real thing myself, but it would be too good for a beach.

That M&S one is v. nice. I'm getting le pliage fatigue although I'm a big fan of them.

Actually, just noticed it's £50, which is a bit more than I wanted to pay. I had a look in TK Maxx today and there was nary a Pliage knock-off, which was surprising - I thought there'd be loads.

That M&S bag is nothing like the le pliage. None of the bags linked look like they fold up like le pliage. Although that may not be one of your priorities. If you want a bag that folds up, is sturdy and lasts years, there is nothing like le pliage.

I've had mine for at least 4 years and use it daily for work, stuffed to the gills with files, folders, lunch boxes etc and it has been worth every penny. There is no sign of wear. I cannot comment on the longevity of any of the others.
