Hello

I am thinking about having hair extensions........I know synthetic ones will probably be cheaper but I read somewhere that after a month they start to look a bit ...well.....crap
has anyone had these? is what I heard wrong?

Is there anything else I need to know?

Oh, and can you use hair straightners on synthetic ones? Probably a silly question

I'd appreciate anything from anyone who's had extensions.........so TIA

My hairdresser said you shouldn't do it if you have fine (ie thin) hair. The extensions are quite weighty and you might get hair falling out - bald patches.

i have human hair extensions - i love them - they are bonded rather than any other method.

i had them done since after having my babies my hair was left very fine and boring, prior to this i had always had thick lovely hair. i never got them for length just to thicken up.

i cannot advise you to get synthetic because i have seen the mess the become in such a brief time.

even though you pay more for the human hair it means you can look after it the same way as you own hair. shampoo it, blow dry it. striaght iron it, hot curl it. synthetics will burn and snap off. with the bonds you cant iron over them or they will melt but this is easy to avoid anyway as they are at the root end of your hair.

i personally did quite a bit of research prior to having them done - many years ago when i was clubbing etc rather than thickness i wanted long hair yesterday (so to speak) and fell into a horrible mistake of wafts - these are horrendous and a horrible method where it is like they are sewn and braided in huge sections in rows horizontally across your head (it means you cannot have a ponytail without getting bumps) they were so disgusting

but i recommend jump online search in your area who does extensions but wait and save up so you get good extensions

also synthetics will last until they look like crap which isnt long but human hair will last ages - i'm on my fourth month now..... its an australian site but its where i had mine done www.ckforhairandbeauty.com
(just to give you an idea)

good luck x
