If that was bigger and could hold a laptop plus files/notebooks, I'd buy it myself as it would be perfect for me at uni. I think it looks stylish and practical

AwkwardSquad · 14/08/2014 11:49

If you're not sure about it, send it back. It's a lot of money for something you don't love.

For me personally it'd be a 'no' but that's mostly because I don't like gold hardware. (And it's well outside my price range.)

bettereveryday · 14/08/2014 11:50

it is big enough for an ipad, and small mac possibly. maybe im too old for it ??
i was thinking about a day out with kids when i have two of them and buggy and some nappies in??

AwkwardSquad · 14/08/2014 11:53

I don't think there's an age range for that style of bag!

ophiotaurus · 14/08/2014 11:54

If you don't love it, don't keep it.

bettereveryday · 14/08/2014 11:55

i quite like the look with leather boots on and skinny jeans...oh decisions decisions

LuckySaint · 14/08/2014 11:55

I don't love it for that price.
For days out with the dcs, I use an ancient Prada messenger bag.

Carpaccio · 14/08/2014 12:19

If in doubt, don't keep it.

I'm not a fan - the front pocket makes it look like the bag has a diaper on.

The straps look like they are not going to be comfortable on the shoulders if the bag is a bit heavy. The straps also look like they'll slide down a lot.

Is it actually comfortable to wear - even with loads of stuff in?

I'd go for a comfortable fabric backpack instead - it's lighter, more comfortable and cheaper. I quite like this: www.fjallraven.co.uk/packer
and this: www.fjallraven.co.uk/foldsack-no-1
This one is nice too IMO: www.surfdome.com/herschel_backpacks_-herschel_post_laptop_backpack-_black-174762

Oly4 · 14/08/2014 14:10

Sorry, I think it's naff. A stylish canvas one would be much nicer

dexter73 · 14/08/2014 14:14

I think it is a lovely bag, but agree with if you don't love it don't keep it.

UML · 14/08/2014 14:54

I think the appearance doesn't reflect the price...

NorbertDentressangle · 14/08/2014 14:58

I'm sorry but I think it looks a bit dull TBH.

It looks like any other black leather/leather lookalike backpack that you can probably get in any High St shop for a fraction of the price.

Don't keep it unless you love it.

Shia · 14/08/2014 14:59

I prefer the zatchels ones.

bettereveryday · 14/08/2014 15:13

thanks ladies, i think it mght be going back ;)

OP posts:
GilbertBlytheWouldGetIt · 14/08/2014 15:26

What NorbertDentressangle said.

Marcipex · 14/08/2014 15:32

The snag with the really nice leather one, different brand, I was given was that it was heavy even when empty.

That's my test now, heaviness!

MrPop · 15/08/2014 20:31

If you want the whistles one for cheaper, look at oxfam online.

here

bettereveryday · 15/08/2014 21:41

mr Pop brilliant, thanks very much >>>I think thats the same back pack I think. I sent it back today but completely forgot about Oxfam, will have a browse on their web now

Flowersandleaves · 15/08/2014 21:53

Really like carpacio's suggestions!
OP, nay to the backpack from me. As others have said, it looks uninspiring imo.

FrancesFarmer · 15/08/2014 22:29

It looks good but I would fear that the traps would be uncomfortable.
I prefer to stick to a more practical but comfortable fabric backpack: I like to think this is a nerd style classic a la Jack Lyman in the West Wing.

FrancesFarmer · 15/08/2014 22:29

^ Josh Lyman, that is.
