How hard is it to do a semi permanent hair colour...

And can anyone recommend one?

I have never dyed my hair myself I've always had highlights at a hairdresser.
I moved house 3 years ago to a new town and have tried every hairdresser in town. My hair has gone from beautiful long layered natural blond, to a longish bob with very random short bits, that don't lay properly with a very bright blond lump at the front, that's quite dry and looks awful, I tend to pin it back to try and hide it :/

So I'm thinking of not having it cut for about 8 months to get it back to a longer length and colouring it myself a dark blond.

Is this a bad idea? Is it really hard to use a semi perm colour?

I've been colouring my own hair for years (brown not blonde though) and it's easy.
Nice and easy do a decent semi permanent.

Buy 2 boxes though incase you run out halfway through.

Try oiling your hair overnight a couple of times a week too, to get it in a nice condition again.

If your hair is dry, actually leaving it alone might be the best answer, leave of all products
