bootcut trousers, please help me not to wear them!

until now I have been part of the black bootcut trousers & calf length boots (worn under trousers, not tucked in) brigade when at work.

want to find some slimmer cut (cigarette style?) trousers, but once its too cold for ballet flats, what shoes/boots will I wear with them?

I will not wear brogues, would prefer not to have to do proper healed (court?) shoes every day, but what else looks ok with slim trousers?

advice please before I slip back into my old ways! I am clueless!!!!!

wont ankle boots just make the trousers bunch up or do you wear ankle boots under the trousers? HELP!

Something like this could work not necessarily these boots which aren't amazing IMO, but an ankle boot that is tight round the top and fairly low, like a shoe boot almost. I agree that an ankle boot that comes up too high round the ankle and has a baggier top won't work under slim trousers

In the winter I wear ankle grazer cigarette trousers with which you can wear ankle or shoe boots. Zara, Gap and River Island are all good for this type of trouser.
