Should I get my highlights done in these circumstances?

Had my highlights done beginning of June and had last cut two weeks ago. Just been on holiday for a week and going away again next week. Roots are coming through a little but two weeks ago hairdresser said wow, can't believe how long your colour lasts, asking how often I wash my hair and which shampoo I use. I had planned to get them done again as I have a big birthday while I am away and want to look nice. However, I think the hot sun won't do my colour any favours. Really can't decide whether to wait or get them done now. Think I am talking myself into waiting as only me and DH going away but also want to look nice on my birthday. Hmm...

as a hairdresser I recomend you get it done when you come back as the sun willl lighten it

I always put off getting colour/highlights done till I come back from holiday as sun always lightens my hair.

Thanks, that's what I was hoping for Smile

I would normally wait until after the holiday, but if you want to look your best in photos I would get them done before you go.

You will have at least an inch of roots which might notice in photos when flash is used (it does for me but then I have grey coming through and a distinct side parting )
