Now I need a sports bra

After all the great advice on here I am now comfortably wearing 30GG Cleo bras. However, I do Pilates and have now started spin classes and I think I would benefit from a sports bra.
Please could one of the bra experts recommend me a good bra so I don't spend weeks on a hit and miss expedition round the shops where I'm probably likely to end up with something uncomfortable I will never wear.
TIA Smile

Beyond all shadow of a doubt, the best sports bra for someone of your size will be an Enell. Be warned, they are not things of beauty. They are like an extremely elastic cropped vest with about 20 hook and eye fasteners up the front but they hold it all firm. You will not regret it.

Charitygirl1 · 11/08/2014 22:36

Enell's look great, but I'm also v happy with my Panache one - I run and do HIIT in mine and my 30fs are happy.

Passthecake30 · 11/08/2014 22:55

30ff here, I wear shock absorbers. I go up a band though as they are v tight!

ilovepowerhoop · 12/08/2014 08:02

I get mine from boobydoo normally

30GG options

I have Freya Active underwired but find you have to go up a couple of cup sizes to get the wire to sit right. Really need to try the Panache one in my size (36GG)

Elliptic5 · 12/08/2014 08:44

Looked at the Enell online but can't see that they make my size Confused. Boobydoo look good, but I have so much trouble with bras rubbing underarm and also my ribs that I expect I will have to try loads before I find the right one - and they're not cheap either!

Same as Passthecake exactly!

Eastpoint · 12/08/2014 09:18

I wear shock absorbers too. They are very hard to do up but they hold everything in place.

Amethyst24 · 12/08/2014 10:04

I find a front fastening sports bra way better for any exercise that involves mat work - have spent far too much time with hooks digging agonisingly into my spine...

Stokey · 12/08/2014 10:16

I have a shock absorber and panache one - there's an online shop called something like sportsbra.com which was half the price of Bravissimo and the like.

cathpip · 12/08/2014 10:23

I wear shock absorber sports bras, have a range of sizes from a c - ff cup to accommodate my fluctuating breast feeding boobs, they hold them well and truly in place when I go running :).

HazleNutt · 12/08/2014 11:11

Freya Active Underwired. Shock Absorber Run will do the job as well, but Freya is better.

newpup · 12/08/2014 12:10

Shock absorber fan here. I am a 32G and they hold me totally firm!1 Running, spinning, interval training etc. Not pretty but absolutely do what they are supposed to!

TheBuskersDog · 12/08/2014 16:50

Sweatshop have got the Freya Active for £10 and free delivery today using the code AUGFD.
What's the sizing like?

TheCraicDealer · 12/08/2014 16:54

I have zero recommendations, however your thread title made me think of this:-

Now I need a sports bra
ilovepowerhoop · 12/08/2014 17:17

TheBuskersDog, thanks for the link, have ordered some Panache ones to try on from there as they are cheaper than boobydoo

Elliptic5 · 12/08/2014 18:02

Grin craic

The panache sport is very good IME, and unusually it's also true to size. Try it in your usual Cleo size.

Shock absorber and Freya are both good too but the Panache is much better, no bouncing at all.

I'm slightly bigger than you at 30HH, and don't feel I need anything more industrial.

Elliptic5 · 12/08/2014 21:33

Thank you Statistically that's the one I'll look at then.

I wear Shock Absorber highest level (4 I think).

Agree, go up a band - that is to say my boobs have shrunk from 32G/GG to 30G after losing weight, but/and I now find my 32G Shock Absorber fits better and I can wear it for longer than an hour or so!! Grin

HazleNutt · 13/08/2014 14:28

I buy Freya Active either in my normal size or if between sizes, one band size up.

ilovepowerhoop · 14/08/2014 21:52

ordered the Panache from that Sweatshop link in the 36GG and 36H and have chosen the 36GG which is the size of the majority of my bras so they seem to be pretty true to size. They also dont come too far up under the arms so dont dig into your armpit. I am going to try one out tomorrow at a powerhoop class and see how it copes.

KristinaM · 14/08/2014 22:01

I'm a 30FF or G, so only slightly smaller than you on the Cup and I wear an Ennell bra for running. A size zero IIRC.

So I'm suprised that you say they don't make one in your size . I think the 00 woudl probably fit someone with a 28" back. And if you are much smaller than a 28, you really shouldn't be wearing a 30 in a normal bra
