Cheap make-up you're currently rather impressed with.

I'm currently liking Tesco's eye-shadows - the little individual ones. Teal and Smoke looking good.

What's your cheapo secret?

you knwo its rimmel

MrsBadger · 17/09/2006 18:55

Body Shop mascara - the brown is really unpopular and is always in the 99p sale basket.

M&S Per Una BeneTint-type stuff

Tinker · 17/09/2006 18:55

Was saving Jungle Green eyeliner for my next post...

I've got this little eyeshadow stick thing from Avon that I am rather liking.

Also got 3 mini lip glosses for £3 from Avon.

bossykate · 18/09/2006 13:08

collection 2000 lip gloss and concealer.

LiliLaTigresse · 18/09/2006 13:08

the only cheap make-up I've liked so far is Tesco's make-up bronzing powder and Bourjois 'suivez mon regard' eye shadow in a bronze colour
really disappointed in other cheap stuff I've tried
so back to the Chanel counter ......

The make up range in Aldi has been getting positive and complementary reviews from magazines like Best, Woman etc.

aitch71 · 18/09/2006 13:14

maybelline's long lasting lippie. heaps better than that claggy max factor one, especially if you dab it on with your finger.

Those lipsyl lip glosses - have a browny one and a clear one. And a nivea (maybe?? 'pearl and shine' too.

leander · 18/09/2006 13:16

tesco here too it's great!

PinkTulips · 18/09/2006 13:21

ugghhh, aldi foundation is dreadful. F*ing orange! and their mascara is quite lumpy. gave up after that

aitch71 · 18/09/2006 13:22

i interviewed barbara daly when she brought out that range, she really vouched for the quality of the products. refused to be quoted saying so, natch, but told me that they were on a par with, as an example, a brand like Clarins. the concealers are unbelievably good, i think. (and i know some beauty eds who use them, and they get anything they want for free).

FrannyandZooey · 18/09/2006 13:24

Which range aitch? Tescos?

southeastastra · 18/09/2006 13:24

the range is excellent! really smooth, i only wish the lipstick would last longer, apart from that it's fab. i used to love the barbara daly body shop range too, but she doesn't do that anymore (i don't think!) and the body shop make up is ridiculously expensive

aitch71 · 18/09/2006 13:24

oops, yes Tescos.

apart from the maybelline lippie and tescos concealer, though, it's sisley all the way for me...
well, apart from the pout mascara.

thewomanwhothoughtshewasahat · 19/09/2006 12:19

rimmel mascara - tried all the rest, all the expensive ones, but this is the best. and you don;t try to make it last longer, you can afford to chuck it and get a new one as soon as it starts to dry out.
