Good morning fashion gurus. Having read old threads i know this subject has been done to death but please help! Have cousin's september wedding and my little boy is guest but not part of the wedding party and i am struggling to find an outfit for him. Have gone from he's in a kilt ( all male family are including his dad) to thinking that is too expensive to a suit to thinking that's creepy to smart casual. However can't find a complete outfit anywhere. Monsoon do a nice shirt and waistcoat combo but no bottoms to match. All previous threads are out of date. Any advice? Going out shortly but will check back later. Thanks for any help x

i would just put him in something like a shirt and trousers
at a similar age my son wore a chino/tank top combo

this is cute!

The blue next set is nice, if you fancy the trousers and waistcoat thing is out of stock tough. m&s have this. The bow tie would be best skipped. His size is out of stock on line but you'd probably find it in store.

I think I'd go with just a nice shirt and trousers. maybe this and these

Look on chateau de stable. Nice smart clothing but stuff that can be worn again casually depending on what you buy

I put my DS in maroon cords, with a shirt/tie/waistcoat set from Next, with little suede boots (cheapo Primark ones!). He was quite comfy in it but looked smart and very cute.

(Not that I'm biased or anything Grin)

Should have said - the cords were cheapo Primark as well, so the whole outfit cost me maybe £40.

We could be the same person! I have gone for a JoJo collarless shirt, navy smart shorts and a seersucker blazer. Shoes will either be navy boat shoes or white converse/white equivalent of penny blacks. There was a moment of madness where I contemplated a tie... That has passed!

Ps navy long trousers in the handbag in case the Glasgow weather is, well, Glaswegian...

Op I have this in age 2/3 the waistcoat is small for size & trousers are slim fit & adjustable waist. Pm me if it would be any good

I personally hate to see little boys in suits or waistcoats. I find it looks cheap, sorry. My 18 month old recently went to a wedding in cream chinos (M&S) and a navy check cotton shirt. He looked cute, smart and not out of place at all

Nospringflower · 08/08/2014 17:54

Not sure where you are but you can get cheap kilts for babies in Edinburgh (about £15) that look very cute.

Thanks for all the suggestions. Went for the next grey suit but will ditch the tie and go for the zara mao white shirt. Hope it looks as good in real life as it does in my head! Just to get myself sorted for an outfit but that's a whole new thread...
