Help me! I'm getting married on the cheap, need a lovely dress!

Help. I think my brain is melting. I'm getting married next Wednesday. It's a small affair, only close family at the registry office. We are off for a bite to eat afterwards and heading up to Stanstead that evening as we are moving abroad at about 6.30 the next morning! My current outfit is a very cheap (under £20 but still nice and soft) black jersey maxi dress (vest top sleeveless) with some Pura Lopez metallic vintage kitten heels, a silk dupion belt in a dull gold (which I need to make), and some coloured freshwater pearl bracelets and a necklace (if I ever finish making the necklace). I'm suddenly having a crisis that my dress is far too plain and boring and I need something that costs more than £20!
Budget is up to about £120ish and I live near kingston if that is any help. I do have quite a few shoes so hopefully can match a new dress with existing heels!
Help, what with this, moving, trying to rent our house out and sell our car and 2 small kids I think I've lost the plot.

Do you have any preferences re style/length/colour?

NinjaChipmunk · 06/08/2014 18:15

They are lovely but possibly a bit to 'weddingy' if you get my drift. I quite like stuff with a bit of embellishment to it or colours other than white/ ivory/ cream (my smallest is 2 and I fully expect greasy handprints and the like plus I won't have time to change between the wedding itself, the place we are eating at the then getting the train.).

length wise midi to maxi as I have white legs which often have pushchair/ child related bruises on them!
I can go with most colours, after 17 years, its not a big white wedding we're going for!

I had a non weddingy wedding, got a lovely polka dot dress from The Pretty Dress Company. Was in the sale reduced from £110 to £50 plus I found a facebook discount code so it cost me about £42 in the end Grin
