Best facial oil?

cherryhealey · 05/08/2014 20:05

Just tried a couple of samples a Lancôme one and a much cheaper Loreal on actually preferred that Loreal one.

When do you use them? Instead of night time moisturiser?

Always had oily skin now getting tighter and drier a bit worried the facial oils will make me spotty

Help please wise ones....

Clarins. I use the Santal one for dry skin but they have one for every skin type.

I've used it practically every night for the last decade.

LordEmsworth · 05/08/2014 20:21

I use the Clarins one for dehydrated skin - blue orchid. It's lovely.

I mix it with my night cream, so as well as moisturiser - makes it rich & lush

Marking place. I was using the mega-cheap Superdrug Vitamin E one, but it's stopped working for me. I really liked it at first, but now I'm finding it makes me feel itchy.

Clarins or actually Bio Oil!

Mix with normal moisturiser & it's wonderful :)

zeddybrek · 05/08/2014 20:56

Another vote for either Clarins or Bio oil. Definitely not the over priced Darphin one.

PittTheYounger · 05/08/2014 20:56

i have the loeal one
have used for several months now and i love it
smells amazing

PittTheYounger · 05/08/2014 20:56

for legs

you need This Works dry leg oil. It costs a kings ransom but is ace

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 05/08/2014 20:59

Link to the L'Oreal one please?

I can't stand the smell of that leg stuff - it smells like the
Armpits of Sodom.

PittTheYounger · 05/08/2014 21:03

oh bum
you might not like the loreal one then, kind of similar medicinal smell

Ta. I will go and sniff it. Grin

Coconut, olive, almond, wheatgerm or grapeseed. Any of those - not all of them together! I use it at night for cleansing and moisturising and sometimes as a day moisturiser (with a sunscreen).

I'm not keen on fancier facial oils 'cos they often have lots of ingredients and my skin is quite sensitive so the less I put on it the better.

Jellypudmum · 06/08/2014 00:21

Rosehip seed oil with a few drops of rosemary oil to make it smell nice!
Got it from our local organic beauty shop.

ThisBitchIsResting · 07/08/2014 01:00

I like Nuxe. Use it on my face at night with blue pot Nivea on top. Also on the ends of blowdried hair to stop the ends going fluffy.

ohmymimi · 07/08/2014 10:58

Pai rosehip oil for face, almond or coconut for body/hair/nails. I learnt my lesson paying silly money for tiddly bottles of Decleor oils, which are no more effective, and I suspect the same goes for other fancy oils. It is so easy to get hold of oils for specific problems/use on-line now. Doesn't Bio Oil have mineral oil in it?

squoosh · 07/08/2014 11:02

Yes, Bio Oil is mainly made of mineral oil. I wouldn't use it on my face.

FuckyNell · 07/08/2014 11:05

I like decleor

ohmymimi · 07/08/2014 16:54

I like Decleor, too, Fucky, Prolagène Gel and Hydrafloral especially. But their miniscule bottles of oil are not pure essential oils, so I don' believe they offer good value. Mind you, I've never paid full price, as I only buy QVC specials.

AbbieHoffmansAfro · 07/08/2014 17:06

Clarins or a plain rosehip oil from the health shop.
