Can anyone suggest a new perfume, please?

Hi :)

I have been wearing L'eau D'issey for 15 years. I've tried other fragrances but I tend to go off them, so I thought I'd ask the lovely ladies of s&b to help me find something new.

I like are Jour by Hugo Boss, but it's a bit "wishy washy" and Clinique Happy, but it's a bit too intense.

Any suggestions before I embark on another pointless perfume shopping trip?

Have you tried L Occtaine ?

How about Elie Saab Le Parfum?

I got a sample (7.5 ml) of L'Occitane Neroli & Orchidee with a magazine the other day and it's quite nice. I think there are 4 different ones to choose from, but surely they'll have them in the shops too.

Narciso Rodriguez for her is also very nice - similar to Lovely from Sarah Jessica Parker.

Acqua di Gioia from Armani is also really good.

I had to give up Happy as it suddenly didn't suit me. I was recently given Lady Gaga Black Fluid which I thought was a bizaare present choice as I am v much the wrong side of 50, but I love it. Quite subtle and vanilla-y.

I used to wear L'eau D'Issey a lot so hopefully some of my suggestions will be things you like, they're all very "fresh":

  • Martin Margiela Untitled
  • Tom Ford Mandarino di Amalfi or Neroli Portofino
  • L'Occitane whatever this year's Verbena one is, it's lovely: sort of watery minty lemony
  • Caudalie Parfum Divin: smells pleasingly like a French chemists
  • See by Chloe Eau Fraiche: light, apple-blossomy

I'm a total Bvlgari fan.
Lots of nice fragrances, different but not too intense.
People always mention how nice I smell.

Thanks very much for the suggestions. I've made a note of them and I'll have a sniff when I go shopping on my day off.

I used to like L'Occitane's Verbena one, but I found it wore off really quickly.

Thanks again :)

If you like l'eau d'Issey, I would try Escape by Calvin Klein. Or have you tried Marc Jacobs Daisy?

LottieJenkins · 06/08/2014 07:49

Ooh yes, Fresh is lovely. I have a little roll on of their Brown Sugar that I take on holidays, it manages to be both quite fresh and smell like cake.

I had a little try of Rhiannon Nude in superdrug the other day, quite liked it, sort of vanilla ish....
