Saving for a watch for mum's special birthday... Thoughts on this? Thanks

She doesn't have a watch with a black face (and I know she'd like one) and she is petite so I need something dainty and simple... This is a bangle watch (with removable links)and a smallish face (24mm inc case) but do you think it looks special enough (while I like it and I know my mum is demure in her taste I am wondering if it is too plain)? Thanks

It's pretty but I find it quite hard to tell the time if a watch has no numbers or at least the quarters on it.

nicelyneurotic · 01/08/2014 20:57

I'm not crazy about it. Could you not take her shopping and let her pick the one she likes best?

Pollywallywinkles · 01/08/2014 21:01

If her wrist is small the ridged part of the bangle may be a bit large.

I personally don't like a watch without at least quarter markers; but that's because I can't easily see the hands without my glasses on.

Not my taste but if it's something your mum will like then no need to worry about it being "special" enough

This is a great watch for delicate wrists, very light but very expensive feeling. The whole range is good.

I love skagen watches and owned several when I worked in jewellery. I also have a delicate wrist. My mother had one very similar to the one that Mushroom has linked to. Actually I think it was like this but in gold here

I also like the one you've chosen Leo but agree with the others that watches without any hour/minute markings are very annoying! Also, the bangle part of the band may not fit a small wrist - I had a lot of trouble finding one that fit me.

Just wondering if her eyesight is ok for small watch faces, mine isn't (late 50s).
