How thick do you think Marion Cotillard's hair is?

Just that.
Would like to take a pic I found to the hairdresser but am worried that it'll look awful on my very thick hair. Would like her face and figure too...

Who? Off to Google

TheWomanTheyCallJayne · 31/07/2014 21:56

She's a French actress
This is the style I like assets.instyle.co.uk/instyle/live/styles/article_landscape_600_wide/s3/galleries/Marion_Cotillard_Short_Hairstyle_210513.jpg?itok=R054JSIt
But worry I will mushroom

Hmm might mushroom. I have very thick hair and had a similar cut about ten years ago and it did. A good hairdresser may be able to take some weight out and adapt it for your hair though.

0pheliaBalls · 31/07/2014 22:07

Forgot to say that it's a gorgeous style and she is absolutely beautiful!

ouryve · 31/07/2014 22:08

You'd be a slave to the straighteners.

LordTumble · 31/07/2014 22:12

Oh she's very pretty isn't she. I think a good hairdresser would be able to adapt the style to suit your hair, or thin/layer your hair as necessary. Looks like it will take a lot of styling though!

TheWomanTheyCallJayne · 31/07/2014 22:55

That was my worry. (Mushrooming and lots of hassle)
Think I'll leave it.
Don't know why hairdressers always say 'oh you have lovely thick hair'. I can't do anything with it

I have uber thick hair and, sadly, it would mushroom on me. Gorgeous though.

pippistrelle · 01/08/2014 07:38

I went to the hairdresser the other day with a photo of Marion, with her style sleek, but the same cut. My hair is thick but hairdresser adapted it successfully, I think. I have to say I haven't yet washed or styled my hair myself, and I guess that will be the crunch point. My hairdresser recommended (and sold me) an Aveda product called Smooth Infusion to help with smoothing.

PittTheYounger · 01/08/2014 07:39

It's a bit mumsy on the average person

pippistrelle · 01/08/2014 07:40

Why, thank you, Pitt...

GreenTeaHoneysuckle · 01/08/2014 07:44

Not thick. wavy but not thick

Whitershadeofpale · 01/08/2014 07:54

I have thick hair and anything with too many layers doesn't work that well as the weight pulls it down and it doesn't get the movement thinner hair has. These were the last pics I took to the hairdressers and had success with as the weight and thickness works.

I have thick hair and I attempted a similar style a few years ago and unfortunately it was a mushroomy disaster. Sad

TheWomanTheyCallJayne · 01/08/2014 13:52

I am destined to have frumpy just past shoulder length hair forever aren't I Sad means I'll forever tie it up too and I've yet to manage to do anything but use a basic hairband to flip it under.

WhiterShade I have my hair in a v similar style

Thick and v v straight, can't cope with it being longer, it goes all rattail

I have it cut every 4 weeks to keep it sharp

Whitershadeofpale · 01/08/2014 22:14

I think that type of style needs to be kept sharp otherwise so it looks fresh and not mumsy.
I love that hair Euphemia there's a woman on my train who has blond hair like that but shorter at the back and I admire it every day, she wears fab clothes and reminds me of Roxie Hart!

TheFallenMadonna · 01/08/2014 22:20

I used to have it a bit like that, but ended up looking quite triangular, as the ends curled.

I now have it much shorter, and love it. Mid length did not work for me at all.

BoysAreLikeDogs · 01/08/2014 22:29

I also had a really short choppy pixie crop but again needed 4 weekly trim to avoid straying into Pat Butcher territory

thecuntureshow · 02/08/2014 00:29

Average thickness I would say

But it's the styling that makes her hair look great. Looks casual, but I bet it took ages. A blow dry and straighteners and a curler.

thecuntureshow · 02/08/2014 00:29

It's just a bob
