Handbags and shoes to die for- do you get it?

Following on from another thread about a posh handbag- do you get all this obsession with bags and shoes that some women have? I really don't get it, some women go crazy for the latest designer bag or pair of shoes- I just don't get the appeal.

Do you get your rocks off over a handbag or like me does the whole thing leave you feeling nonplussed. Can someone explain what it is all about?

I don't think there is anything to explain really. If you love anything you will find someone who is totally uninterested in it. People like different things, that's all.

What is there to 'get'? Among my friends one lusts after a new road bike, another the latest shiny apple product, another goes cuckoo for new yarns for knitting. 2 of us love our handbags. Different folks, different strokes. Surely you have something you lust after op?
