What is Summer business casual?

Sorry if it's been asked before.

I work as a middle manager in an office. I work mainly with men and it's generally shirts and trousers . There is special dispensation to remove ties in this heat.

It sounds like somewhere between suits and dress down Friday.

What sort of thing would you wear?

I'm keen to build a capsule of modern and stylish outfits. My boobs are too big and I'm self conscious about my legs.

Thanks for your help.

[pounce] - kidding!

If it helps, I wrote about all this recently: www.theworkwearedit.com - the 2nd last post was about a business casual capsule wardrobe.

Here is the link to that post: theworkwearedit.com/a-business-casual-capsule-wardrobe-the-key-workwear-pieces-you-need/

It might give you some ideas.

YikesShock that looks like normal business wear to me.

Thanks for the link. The fine knit jumpers are lovely. I like the black jacket and slim trousers too.

But isn't the point with business casual that you mix normal workwear with your existing casual pieces, like denim jeans w a blazer, a fine jersey tee or wool knit with a pencil skirt? Maybe that doesn't come across well enough in the post.

Anyway, glad you like the knits - v useful IMO.

Jeans with a blazer is a great look, I love traditional macs too. For me, it's too hot or both right now.

I think lots of bare leg would be frowned upon, as would thin shoulder straps. Hosiery and layers make me roast. The relaxation is due to the heat and can apply to training situations.

I had a skim of the pics ( v helpful) and have now had a better read. I like to err on the formal side and I think I'd be comfortable wearing the business wear dressed down when I'm not in work. I don't do casual very well. Smart or yoga pants and vest tops, nothing inbetween (except maxi dresses).

I'll do a post later today, but have meanwhile put together some outfit boards that are on Pinterest, based around short sleeved silk or cotton tops and cotton pencil skirts or cropped trousers.
