Level 1 (non permanent or semi -permanent) hair colour

Does any exist online that isn't just muted brown? I am growing out my permanent colour.. had my hair cut short as I can manage, and the roots are brown and grey. I am determined to be dye free, and so far am 5 months in. I have been using the level one Nice n Easy (supposed to last 8 washes.. doesn't) just to blend the difference between my natural hair and the old dye. But the shades are all a bit ashy and I wonder if there is anything else I could use?

I just want temporary colour.. no peroxide and no ammonia.

Unfortunately only permanents will really cover grey, but you could try and semi permanent? They fade out rather than grow but still use ammonia I'm afraid. Otherwise Loreal do something called a symbio which adds a subtle colour, but won't cover grey

Doesn't last as long as the Nice & Easy 8 wash one, but Superdrug have a colour effects, wash-in, wash-out shampoo.

They are most definitely not ashy, even the dark brown has a reddish tinge, but they are lovely, and I use them to hide the grey between permanents.

As you know Castings etc, in fact any colour that has two bottles that have to be mixed, are not semi-permanent in the strict sense, and if fact used to be known as demi-permanent when first released.
