no dont wear black - some really good friends of my parents and ours as kids got married she wore balck and everyone was so shocked to see her in it and since then the married has not bee sucessful.

wear balck for going away,

I have no objection to wearing black to a wedding, but do think black, especially with colour, can be v harsh and doesn't really suit a lot of people.

How about navy, or chocolate brown, or dark green or burgundy? All still practical if you wanted to (eg) wear the suit for work or something afterwards but a bit more festive than black.

I agree don't wear black, navy is a better option!
For the superstitious.. lol

Married in White, you have chosen right
Married in Grey, you will go far away,
Married in Black, you will wish yourself back,
Married in Red, you will wish yourself dead,
Married in Green, ashamed to be seen,
Married in Blue, you will always be true,
Married in Pearl, you will live in a whirl,
Married in Yellow, ashamed of your fellow,
Married in Brown, you will live in the town,
Married in Pink, you spirit will sink.
