Found the shoes I have been looking for will they be a one season only buy?

This is just what I have been looking for as think they will be versatile, not too high, good colour.
But can't justify the price if they are going to not look right next summer.
What do you stylish people think?

Gladiator style have been around a few years, I'd say they'll be around a bit longer.

Disclaimer: I tend just to buy and wear what I like, regardless of what others are wearing though.

Those kind of shoes have been around for a while so I guess they will be good for a few more!

Greengardenpixie · 29/07/2014 14:35

Not my personal taste. Too high for me and way to many straps. I think something simpler would be more of a classic and last for many years.

polyhymnia · 29/07/2014 16:02

I think they do look a bit dated now for reasons people have said, ie gladiator things around a long time - about 5 years, I'd say. But if you don't care about that and love them, go for it.

I like those , mainly because they seem like a good compromise between a stylish and a comfortable shoe (sorry). For that reason i think they'll be around for awhile yet, although true fashionistas may think theyve had their day, there will be loads of ordinary folk still wearing them

Liveinthepresent · 29/07/2014 16:45

Thanks all - I have ordered them so I think I will see how they go with some of my clothes and take it from there !
Out of interest for those who aren't keen - what kind of summer shoe do you go for if you want it comfortable, versatile enough to wear with trousers and dresses , and ideally with a heel ?

Not keen, sorry... Here's some I like that I think would carry into next summer and beyond though not all may agree...

Sorry can't be constructive on this one because I don't wear heels that high and can't imagine them being comfortable ! I do have some nice and comfortable flat tan gladiators from R and B 3 years ago, but that's no help to you.

polyhymnia · 29/07/2014 18:05

Do like those Hobbs ones posted, though can't personally imagine walking in them.

MotherBluestocking · 29/07/2014 20:05

Potentially very unflattering on the ankle for the less than gazelle-limbed. The Hobbs pair are great if you're a size 37.

Liveinthepresent · 29/07/2014 20:26

Thanks I love the ones like the Hobbs ones on others but strangely I find a more dainty shoe tends to be less flattering. Hmm well I will report back when they arrive.

Like - and not so fashion forward that you won't get a few extra seasons out of.

Style is very unforgiving on the ankle though

Liveinthepresent · 01/08/2014 22:29

they arrived and I love them.
need to try them on over the weekend to make sure they don't make my ankles look huge and actually go with lots of different things but the leather is oh so soft and the heel is just perfect - I really want to keep them.
I did annoyingly find them cheaper on Ash own website but its not enough price difference to return them.

thanks for your comments everyone.
