...a black and white shift style dress for 8 year old.

I am going in a 1960's Mary Quant style block coloured shift dress, with black hair, black shades for the Beautiful Days' Sunday Black and White theme.

DD wants to wear the same, which is, obviously, going to be impossible to find. Can you lovely lot help me find something that will be good for her to wear to go with the theme ? She will also wear black shades but not the black hair as her's is beautifully blonde. I might find a wig but she'll probably get hot.

I have found this but it's not hugely ringing my bells

£20 is about the limit I want to spend really. Maybe a tinsy bit more for the absolute perfect dress.

or this, but not a shift dress and not sure it will go. But fits the Black and White Theme

She is a very definite 8, just so. 9-10 will be far too big Sad shame as that last one looks great!

Do you know anyone good on a sewing machine. I have a dress just as you describe (but teenage size) that was a costume and it was just made of squares of black and white material checkerboard style (4 squares on front, 4 on back). The shift dress shape is very simple and the material wouldn't cost much at all.
