Hi, my 9 year old DD has long, very straight and very thick hair. I was thinking of having some long layers put in and some shaping at the front. Do you think this would suit a child of her age? I don't want her to look older than she is. It would also need to be tied back for school in either bunches or plats etc.

She is also very tall for her age, about the average height of a 12 year old.

I think it'd almost certainly make her look a good few years older, TBH.

Dd has similar hair and I did it to take the weight out and make her more comfortable as it was so hot

When it's styled and straightened it does make her look a little older but 99% of the time it's either tied up or she has a headband in so not really any different

It makes it much easier for her to manage though

Did this with DD, age 10. Made her look older, but the time and arguments it's saved us in a morning is well worth it.

Thanks everyone. Smile
