what to wear in humid weather?

Off out later to bar/meal but rain forecast - I know it will be humid but what to wear - is cotton still reliable?

I can see myself getting soaked if I wear dress with bare legs.

Was thinking smarter jeans maybe long sleeved (can roll up sleeves) pretty shirt? or flowy chiffon type sleeveless top. and to cover feet.

I've got a wedding evening do later, I'm stumped too!

I still wear dresses and shorts in this weather - bare skin dries quickly. And it's not really cold. Just take a good mac or umbrella or make a dash for it

Too hot for me to wear jeans. I'm out all day today and am wearing a dress. Have shades, umbrella and cardigan for all eventualities!

There seem be a lot of people out and about today wearing shorts and carrying umbrellas.

Dress for the heat, take some rain protection.

I agree, dress for the heat but take a brolly, it's boiling still!

I was having the same thoughts earlier - going out tonight, approximately 1 mile walk there and back. Normally I'd wear something summery with Birkies/posh flip-flops but if it's going to tip it down (which it's done all day ) it will be a PITA.

Can't stand wearing jeans or raincoat as it will make me too hot and sweaty!

This weather drives me nuts - you go out dressed for one thing then it does the complete opposite. I wore jersey harems, Converse and a vest today because it was raining when we left -I melted! The flipflops, hat and shorts I really needed were safely at home obviously.

I can only suggest light layers OP and nothing that will go see-through if you get wet :).
