What to wear with these spotty, skirt-like shorts? Maybe they're short coulottes?

I've bought some shorts like these

Mine are from sainsburys though and are slightly more like a skirt iyswim. (I have no idea what the name of this style of short is tho!)

Anyhow I really like them but I'm not sure what to wear with them

Any suggestions?
I'm short but fairly slim (size 8-10).

Just a plain tee...slightly fitted either in white or black [ or if the shorts have a navy background, navy instead of black] You could also wear a coloured tee...very versatile...like red!

I've been coveting some of these since I saw a much skinnier lady in them in a beer garden this week. She looked effortlessly cool - thong flip flops, shorts, white tank style vest top and aviator Ray-Bans. She looked lovely.

Hmmm think I need some good plain tshirts/ vests. All of mine seem to be patterned!

I have similar from Zara. I love them but only wear on hols. So no fancy 'styling' going on here. A plain vest/cami/tee is as good as it gets. Tho I do like the look above. I'd never try it irl tho. I mean, where would you wear that kind of outfit except to take a blog photo. Where? Have you ever seen anyone dressed like that irl?

I used to have similar but in a dark purple around 20 years ago!

I used to wear them with a fitted t shirt and a short fitted jacket and heels for work, but they were lovely with a vest top and strappy sandals for holiday wear.

I have some like this from asos but with ponies on! Wear them with a white vest or loose camisole top tucked in....if chilly a baggy red cardi too. I live in them!
