I have a ball to go to on Saturday, found a gorgeous pair of stilettos that perfectly match my dress, only problem is they're 6 1/2 inches high and are torturous to walk in, any tips or advice on how to stop my feet slipping forwards, and how to stay upright would be much appreciated :) thanks

Lean backwards a bit as you walk to try and avoid clomping around, don't lead with your knees, relax into the walk... Oh and take flats to change into and sit down a lot Smile

Thanks :) I’ll try practising, I’m wearing them at work to try and break them in a bit, luckily it’s a nightshift so there's no one around to watch me teetering about and grimacing in pain lol

Can you get some inner soles / padding? Insolia would be the best as it redistributes the weight away from the balls of your feet. Also, apparently taping your 3rd and 4th toes together stops the nerves in the balls of your feet hurting so much. Will get link, hang on

Lean back a little, put one foot directly in front of the other & wiggle your bum Grin

Oddly, the best advice about walking in heels came from my husband... 'Use your stomach muscles' - it's all about your core, hold that area taut and you'll find it all much easier.

Haha im a bit of a short arse so i needed them to be quite high to stop my dress dragging all over the floor....just didnt realise how high these were when i bought them lol and theres me thinking a drink or two would help numb the pain :D
