skinny teenage trousers help please

just taken my 16 yr old boy shopping hating to try and find trousers /jeans

could do with trying some to buy online with easy returns.
the nearest were a Next size 26 waist (would fit fine with no belt) or 28 waist (fine with a belt) tried slim fit trousers and skinny jeans. Both were too long (tried regular length - so a short leg) and both were miles too baggy. Any ideas? He is gangly to say the least.
would have tried boys but our store is tiny and there were no teen sizes.
what sort of teen size is equivalent to 26-28 waist super skinny? Age 14 with long legs?
much appreciate all the help available and happy to order online but must be free easy returns as i work full time - could only make asda (hopeless) and matalan (hopeless) and next (less hopeless but unwearable)

want a casual style (2 pairs if a great and comfy fit) and possibly jeans too.
he doesnt have a style of fashion, prefers dark colours, likes zip up hoodies, a short sleeve shirt. would never wear track pants, although he likes comfort.

help?

Ooh 46 I have one of those too.
My DS is 14.6 yo, hates shopping, hates been out shopping with his Mother (the embarassment ) is 5'8" with a 24-25 waist (depends on the brand) and a 32" inside leg.

Most trousers this size are mens (he's too tall for boys).
Oh, and he won't wear jeans

Try H&M (I saw a pair of skinny jeans that would have fitted him but he wasn't with me)

But I found Primark £10 mens straight legged chino type fit him (the smallest waist is a 26") but he's already getting too tall for their 32" leg so I need to widen my search.

There was a post that someones skinny DS wore girls skinnies but my DS wouldn't go for that.

i think my son is shorter than 5 foot 8 - i am 5 foot 6 and he is about my height and similar length legs possibly bit longer(about 30).
this sounds like the primark 26 waist 32 or 30 length might be good.
70 - were they not horrifically baggy being a straight leg style?

No , they are nice and straight (actually, not a chino, more like cotton jeans if that makes sense. Button fly or zip, he's got a few pairs)
He has got a pair of chinos for summer, thinner, but looser and more pockets.

My DS is 7st 7lb , short dark hair and prances about like a preying mantis.
