Best De-tox Shampoo for hair...

Eliza22 · 16/07/2014 08:30

Have started using products in my hair after successfully growing out a crop (May 2013) to now shoulder length hair! My hair is straight as a poker and lots of it so, need product to keep it "sane". My old detox shampoo, just a Boots own one has been discontinued. Any other good ones? (Not too £££)

Thanks Smile

Tresemme do a cleansing or clarifying one which I find works well for me, if that's what you're after.

No sure what you mean by de-tox shampoo but I went on a splurge in Superdrug recently to buy stuff to allow me to do some DIY beauty/spa treatments at home and bought a pot of tresemme 2 minute repair hair mask. I love it! I've been using it a couple of times a week since and my hair feels great. I've got thick hair and lots of it

The Toni and Guy one is very good. Available in Boots etc.

Eliza22 · 16/07/2014 12:57

Yep, that's exactly the thing. Will have a look at your recs. Thanks!

Second Toni and Guy products. I adore the conditioner for fine hair. It makes my hair shiny and soft with nothing to weigh it down.

In fact Toni and Guy in the white containers is lovely all round.

Holland and Barrett do an organic tea tree shampoo which I used to strip all the remaining Pantene yeuch from my hair.

My hair now squeaks when I wash it and feels clean again.

Naicecuppatea · 16/07/2014 14:15

Redken cleansing cream is excellent for clarifying (bit pricy but you only need to use it now and then).

Bumble and bumble: Sunday shampoo Grin

I Love Juicy by Lush

PartyFops · 16/07/2014 16:05

I find johnsons baby shampoo does the same thing and is cheap as chips.

(Disclaimer, I don't use it on my kids hair!)

Liger123 · 16/07/2014 16:16

Lush Big is really good for leaving hair squeaky clean- or Avalon Organics (available in Waitrose) have a lemon clarifying shampoo which is paraben free and fantastic.

alltoomuchrightnow · 16/07/2014 23:32

yes, Lush Big is amazing. I always save mine for special occasions…. great for shine too

Happy36 · 16/07/2014 23:33

Aussie Miracle Light

TheRainDrops · 17/07/2014 13:40

Lush Big is fantastic! Seanik is also good for a bit less ££ if you can cope with shampoo bars.

I use an Sls and silicone free Timotei organically one that I got from one of the pound shops. I will be buying it again..at full price when it runs out

Eliza22 · 17/07/2014 16:01

I can remember years ago reading that Jerry Hall washes her hair with Fairy Liquid to remove gunck !!!

alltoomuchrightnow · 17/07/2014 22:49

i do it with Fairy Liquid about once a fortnight…. could probably do with it more at the moment…. I get greasy so quickly, it's not product build up either

alltoomuchrightnow · 17/07/2014 22:49

Timotei one from my 99p shop did nothing for me.. way to mild but i keep it to wash makeup brushes in

alltoomuchrightnow · 17/07/2014 22:50

too mild more like.

Eliza22 · 18/07/2014 07:23

Oh Gawd no, couldn't go with the chemical fest that is Fairey! Have bought the Toni & Guy one, to try today and noticed some Johnson's Baby Shampoo, lurking in the cupboard. Will give that a go, too. That stuff stings your eyes like the bejesus, as I remember!

Oh no - I've used Boots own one for ages - it's the best imo.

Others I tried;

Bumble and Bumble sunday shampoo - expensive and didn't seem very effective.

Naked - detox shampoo - works too well, hair is thoroughly stripped and extremely squeaky.

Eliza22 · 18/07/2014 12:41

Toni & Guy one very good! Smile

This is from the range I like. I picked up the health and shine one I think its called for a pound. Love it and cheaper than Naked range i think
