Has anyone tried this yet? Is it the modern equivalent of sun in? Thought my 14 yr old dd might like it. Just worried it might turn her hair green.

I thought I liked the look of it and then remembered my teenage sun-in orange hair and decided it's probably not a good idea!

SuzySheepSmellsNice · 15/07/2014 19:37

I tried to get some but they only had the blonde-to-very-blonde one. I'm not sure whether to keep looking

thornrose · 15/07/2014 19:39

I have the mid brown one but I'm afraid to use it! Bad memories of teenage sun-in run-ins here too!

blondiep14 · 15/07/2014 19:41

Just saw the ad and wondered about it too! Hope someone who has braved it comes along Grin

AuntieStella · 15/07/2014 19:42

Marking place!

DD (blonde, wants to go even blonder) wants to try it. I used Sun-In in my teen years, and was one of the rare ones who did go blonde rather than orange. I'll probably go for proper pre-hols hilights for me. But have been wondering about reliving my wild youth.

(I bought the Jackie homage CD today)

Loveleopardprint · 15/07/2014 20:11

Aah. I loved Jackie!!

Hoping someone brave comes along!

Perhaps we could persuade thornrose to use hers as a selfless act in the name of research! Grin

Avon do a liquid gel thing, sure it's called something techniques? Which dd14 had been using and it' fab. Doesn't go orange at all and really eay to apply

AuntieStella · 15/07/2014 20:23

There are quite a lot of Jackie compilation CDs (as I have just discovered via google).

I was looking for the tracks on the Jackie Long Hot Summer I've just bought - list is included here

Long drives this summer will be (slightly) improved by this. Should I confess (in hushed tones) now that last summer's driving was improved by Eddie Stobarts's Trucking songs?

ThedoublelifeofDollyBrown · 15/07/2014 20:24

I wouldn't dare to use it. I can imagine it frazzling the hair.

Just looked up the Jackie homage CD. Wow!

Loveleopardprint · 15/07/2014 20:29

I will have a look at the Avon one. Thanks.

DD and mates use/have used the John Frieda one. It does make their hair go a bit yellowy, but they seem to like it!

Loveleopardprint · 15/07/2014 20:36

Can't find anything on Avon. Was it bought a while ago??

thornrose · 15/07/2014 20:56

Hmm thanks lovely Grin

I might apply a small amount to the ends, if it's horrid I can always chop it off! Shock

When will they get the accent sign sorted?!

I've been using it for a few weeks. The middle one of the three. I apply it to selected strands. Think it would be something good to go out in the sun in but I've just used a hairdryer. Hasn't affected the condition of my hair and has lightened it quite gradually and subtly. I already have warm, auburny tones in my hair so can't really judge on brassiness. I've been using a purple shampoo too
