Ive chosen to punish myself by wearing this to mil's 60th surprise party.

What i should add is that im now 12stone (lost 1 stone already), size 14 and im 5 foot 5inches. All the cousins in dp's family are near 6 foot size 8 stunners so whatever I wear i'll look odd stood next to them anyway. I hate my chubby pale legs so chose to hide them in this but now im wondering what to wear shoes wise? wedges, flats, heels i have no idea. Ive been out once in 2 years since having a baby, so really want to look nice for a change.

Will I just look short/ stumpy and ridiculous in this?

Ooh... To be entirely honest with you, I don't think anyone could pull that off!

The thing is with jumpsuits, you have to size up to avoid camel toe, which puts bagginess in other areas. In fact, when I've tried then on, I've still ended up with a visible 2 sizes up!

What about a spray tan? Tan tights? Summery maxi dress? Is the party indoors/outdoors/daytime/evening?

Well done to you for losing the weight, however I think there are outfits out there that will do you far more justice!

honeypie10 · 14/07/2014 13:23

I'd never imagine myself in this at all but its slightly baggy on the top and looser on the bottom so no camel toe. It doesnt actually look too bad on (prays im not mad to even consider this).

Im thinking the same now, just go in a bin bag or something and sit at the back so i blend in with the furniture. think that may be my best bet!

Why are you planning to wear a workman's overalls to a party ?

is it fancy dress ?

sorry Smile

it's not you love, it's the outfit...it's fucking awful

scouseontheinside · 14/07/2014 13:25

Noooo honeypie! I didn't mean it like that! If you feel confident in it, go out and wear it like a million bucks. Don't let stupid old scouser tell you otherwise!

Accessories, fresh face of makeup, nice blow out. If you feel good, you look good.

RoganJosh · 14/07/2014 13:26

When is the party? If everyone is in summery clothes then top to toe navy might make you feel a bit conspicuous.

honeypie10 · 14/07/2014 13:32

Grin at workmans overall!

Argghhh Im completely stuck then, I havent been shopping in so long other than for nappies or wipes! I havent even a clue what style i suit anymore, I do need to try things on, I also saw This in town this morning, it was ull price in the shop and i just noticed its in the sale on line. this would be better wouldnt it.

But what shoes if its even nice at all? ive lost all sense of taste.

honeypie10 · 14/07/2014 13:35

Thanks mrs w, i need a v neck i thin as got big boobs, anything higher even scoop neck makes me look like a body builder, but thanks for trying.

dont worry scouser no offence taken. thankyou for helping me see the light Grin.

Why the hell do they make jumpsuits if they suit nobody at all!

gerbiltamer · 14/07/2014 14:16

I would worry about taking the darn thing off to go to the loo which is a huge issue when you have a baby yelling outside the cubicle door. Agree with maxi dress suggestion.

GiniCooper · 14/07/2014 14:20

The dress is lovely that's in your other link. Go for that!

The boiler suit is terrible, too casual for a start.

TheFirmament · 14/07/2014 14:25

V-neck maxi?

With wedges or sparkly flat sandals this kind of thing

Stokey · 14/07/2014 14:27

I don't think jumpsuits are necessarily bad - they can look good but you would definitely need heels as you are on the shorter side.

The New Look dress wouldn't work if you have big boobs I don't think - you need something with a scoop or v-neck. Some of these Next dresses look like they could work better with your figure.

TessTackle · 14/07/2014 14:29

The new look dress is gorgeous! Gold wedges? Nude wedges? Gold sandals?

considering ordering one myself

fackinell · 14/07/2014 14:41

I think if you like it on then go for it. My friend is much bigger than you (around an 18) and she looks great in play suits. I'd go for a statement wide belt to cinch in your waist, some sparkly heels and some contrasting earrings (maybe matching the belt.) . They can look really good on hourglass shapes, apples don't suit them so much.

hellsbellsmelons · 14/07/2014 15:07

That blue dress is lovely.
Some nude/tan heels would be nice.
Or contrast it with pink accessories? And I mean cerise pink!

honeypie10 · 14/07/2014 15:13

Right new look dress ordered along with another dress, coat and pair of shoes - to err try! Smile.

Also thinking i may try them both on on the day to see which i feel more comfortable in. what colour shoes would you wear with the blue dress? the belt is gold so obviously gold of some type or what about nude?

OP posts:
honeypie10 · 14/07/2014 15:15

what about these?.

they may not be the same colour blue though?

OP posts:
Pastperfect · 14/07/2014 15:32

No to the river island dress - I gave same in coral. It really is only good for beachwear. The fabric is very very thin so not only is underwear a challenge but it's not forgiving in the slightest

honeypie10 · 14/07/2014 15:54

I have one similar to the river island dress, same colour from boohoo, has a floaty thing where the waist is (not describing it well but its ok on) anyway love the style but dont think id wear it to this 60th.

Good taste though!

OP posts:
BitOutOfPractice · 14/07/2014 15:57

No don't try and match the colour of the dress. Go for gold I'd say. AS high as you dare!

itsbetterthanabox · 14/07/2014 20:01

I think jumpsuits are cool. It'll look good. Pattern ones are better but this one is nice. Wear flat strappt sandals and a cool waist belt.
