Havaianas, Ipanemas, Fit Flops etc. Anyone tried? And cheapie flip flops? cheapie lookalike crocs? (have never tried with any..just read that real Crocs were fine in dishwasher). I have too many thong type footwear, and DP has fake Crocs which are minging.

Scrub them in hot soapy water and then soak in Milton solution.
Leave to dry and they'll be great.

I've put genuine crocs in the dishwasher and it changed the shape of the back strap on DD's pair. She won't wear them now for long as they're itchy.

I washed DS's crocs in the washing machine (not the dishwasher). In theory they should go in a pillow case, but I just chucked them in. I have also washed my walking sandals numerous times. If it it something with Velcro and anything else is in the machine, definitely use a pillowcase.

I put my havs in the dishwasher (not on a hot setting) and they came out fine.

HelpMeGetOutOfHere · 14/07/2014 13:33

I just put them in the washig machine with a load and they come out fine, that's crocs and flip flops, dd's crocs keep on coming up like new.

put in washing machine on 30. My pale pink Hav's still look grubby, but way better. Ipanemas didn't clean up but i guess they're more hygienic now. Dark hav's look great. thanks!

I have washed uggs , flip flops , converse , trainers ..all are fine :-)

Purpleroxy · 15/07/2014 13:06

WASHING MACHINE!!!! Dishwasher not suitable for such things.

Anyway the crocs that are just plastic will do better if scrubbed with a scrubbing brush and jif or something like that. Ie physically scrubbing the grime rather than magically expecting it to be dissolved in a machine.

BubaMarra · 15/07/2014 13:10

I do it in the washing machine. Never scrub.

TravellingToad · 15/07/2014 13:12

washing machine or dishwasher?

Deux · 15/07/2014 13:13

Good grief, why not just put them in the washing machine with a load of clothes.

Why on earth would you put them in the dishwasher .

Deux · 15/07/2014 13:15

I agree with the poster upthread. Just scrub them with a brush and fairy liquid/soap etc.

Much quicker too.

I've put my fitflops in the washing machine and whilst the white sole is clean, you won't get the grime out of ridges in the sole. Scrubbing brush required.
