Am I to old for this hair colour?

Thinking of changing colour and style, I really like the American tailoring affect, similar too balyage but a lot more subtle, my question being in my forties am I to old? Something like this? What's your thoughts!!!

Absolutely not too old. I'm in my 50's and if my hair were in good enough condition to colour, I'd have something like this definitely. It's gorgeous. What I really don't like on 50+ women is bright red - like totally unnatural red. A lot of older women seem to go for it in my neck of the woods and I think it looks hard, cheap and nasty.
