Undecided about which size to go for - do you ever get that?

I ordered two sizes in lace shift style dress from j crew. The smaller size fits like a glove - but I am very aware of the fact that it is quite fitted when I sit down in it. The next size up has a bit more room - not as fitted around the waist and more room to sit down.

I am inclined to got for the bigger size - because while it's quite a dressy dress, I hope to dress it down and get lots of wear out of it - so comfort may be a consideration.

What do you think?

I always get this with jeans as well...

I always get this, with jeans especially. I ordered two sizes of the same jeans this week. The big size I could barely keep up, the small size are a step above sprayed on. I've kept the sprayed on ones in the hope that they'll stretch out with more wear... Sigh.

In an ideal world I'd have a dressmaker make all my clothes.

I think jeans do give! I had to get rid of some rather stretchy ones from gap because after only a couple of wears they got too baggy on me...
