I have a dress I love, very similar to this one;

It has a seperate underskirt to make it puffy and I've work it to a couple of weddings. I'm typical pear shape so it really works for me.

I'm going out tomorrow with girl friends and want to look nice but I don't have much spare cash. We are going for dinner then for drinks in a few cocktail type bars.

I think this dress is a bit weddingy to wear but is there any way I could make it more casual.

Maybe casuals not the right word, maybe I mean more edgy, less pretty and weddingy!!!!

Oh yes, easily - leave the petticoat off and wear it with a cropped cardy and flats. Job done. It's a lovely dress.

It'll look fine for a dinner/drinks in a smart place.

As MrsL says, leave out the petticoat add a cardigan. A small heel would be fine.

Thank you very much, a cardigan would be nice.

Gonna give it a shot.
