Nail art - where to get supplies?

I'm thinking of trying out something a bit more adventurous than plain polish on my nails, but dont want false nails, & can't afford to have then done professionally. Where can I get nice, inxpensive stuff from - nothing too fancy or flashy. Is ebay my best bet? Also, can anyone point me to some online tutorials etc, I've looked & I don't know where to start, there are so many, I need one for beginners!

Try konad stamping kits. eBay sells them. Fantastic and easy

A friend of mine goes to a nail technician and has really fancy designs.. Turns out she uses sharpie pens! And a clear coat of polish over the top.

Avon has some nice bits for this.

Poundland! They have all sorts in there - Revlon nail art pens, stick on gems, different finishes of polish... I've just bought some gorgeous Sally Hansen Sugarcoat polish from there in a pale blue shot through with a pinky shimmer and one in navy blue. They have a matt, slightly rough 'frosted' finish and they're eight quid in Boots!

I second poundland, i've got loads of nail stuff in there. I also have some of the sugar coat polishes, mine are cherry red, mint green and grape purple. really good, last well and look really pretty. I've also found nail art pens, stickers, magnetic polishes, nail caviar, stick on charms and nails wraps

Ooh thanks.
Definitely looking into the other things as well. Am very amused at the Sharpie tip!

Google "bundle monster". They do stamp sets similar to Konad but better designs and much cheaper. eBay is good for tape and things to do lines and little stickers.
