Can anyone help me with a new hairstyle?

I have my first hair appointment in about 18months booked (been ill/pregnant/ill again) ready for going back to work in 2weeks. Can anyone help me with what I want? My normal hairdresser is away so I'm seeing someone else as it's the only day I've got childcare for.
Currently I've got thick collarbone length dark hair in a bob with a heavy fringe. Completely overgrown & bushy with a fringe I've been cutting myself.

I'd like a choppy/messy separated kind of look that I can still tie back easily when I need to, needs to work with my thick hair & not just make it wider. Needs to be idiot proof in terms of styling The fringe is staying.
I can't find any pictures I like - help!

That iconic Karlie Kloss bob would suit your hair and texture.

If that is a picture of your hair currently- it looks great.

Sadly that's not my hair! I like both of those but they look, to my completely inexperienced eye, like they've been curled a bit first? Don't think I have the time or expertise for that!
Ideally I'd like to keep it a bit longer but I think they'll probably want to chop a decent bit off. One bonus of being Ill is it hasn't been blown dryed or straightened much recently so don't think it's in to bad condition despite the neglect.
