Can't find my clothes thread.. so here goes (and it's my birthday today, what should I buy Dermalogica's age smart night serum thingy or Rosehip oil from Neal's Yard?

I still haven't had time to put some of my clothes on my profile so apologies. I've ended up having to wear the Hobbs suit this week to an interview but I will sell it and have my clear out.
In the meantime, it's my birthday today and I've got all of £70 to spend on myself. I'm 44 and luckily have fairly good skin (the consultant midwife who looked after me when I was pregnant with DD2 last year , age 42 thought I was 29 - she hadn't looked at my notes). My skin is a bit dehydrated from breastfeeding (nearly stopped she's 14 months old now) and I was thinking Dermalogica Age Smart Night Serum as I'm having my face mapped at One All Change today. Or should I get Neals Yard rosehip oil (Borough market store is near where I'm working today). I'm on a budget so this may be my last treat in a while.

Happy birthday!

If it were me I'd get the rosehip oil; that's something I use a lot and it has good results on my skin. Dermalogica makes me react so I wouldn't go for the serum but I bet others swear by it.

Be warned, rosehip oil doesn't smell that nice, so doesn't really have a luxury feel to it!

Hope you enjoy your treat.

Thanks Hellon I've had my face mapped and got a sample of the serum, may buy the rosehip and try that first - it's half the price - the night serum is £54! x

I don't like Dermalogica, I've tried numerous products and none have been in the slightest bit effective.

Neal's yard make much nicer stuff in my opinion.

Have to say Fisher the night serum smelt Neal's Yard-y - lots of essential oils. I got heaps of Dermalogica stuff in my bathroom as my mum's best friend was a beautician who swore by it. But she didn't rate any of the more fancy ranges such as Chroma wotsit and Age Smart. She said just the cleansing wash, spray toner and one of the three moisterisers, plus the odd face masque and retin A cream for ageing. I have to say for a company that says it wants to keep things simple there was an awful lot of stuff in the boutique i visited at lunchtime.
