Afternoon tea baby shower - what to wear?

Going to a friend's baby shower tomorrow afternoon. It's afternoon tea in a nice hotel with a crowd of her friends I don't really know. What would you wear? Help please!

I'm going to an afternoon tea hen do today! Again, I don't know many of the others.

I'm wearing either...

A cobalt blue jersey skater dress dressed up with a chunky sparkly necklace, possibly with tights and heeled ankle boots as it's raining here.

Or a pale pink wrap dress with a cropped navy blazer and heels

Or jeans, heels, a yellow lace top and turquoise statement necklace.

I wouldn't usually go for jeans but recently gave birth and not sure if the dresses fit! For a hotel do I'd definitely recommend you go for a dress, but it can definitely be a nice day dress dressed up, rather than an evening or cocktail dress. I think anything clubby would be overkill!

Thanks Curls - your choices sound lovely. I'm thinking maxi dress and flat sandals or Capri trousers and heels with a jacket. Will add statement necklace to both outfits.

Would prefer a nice summer dress but not sure I can get into it and feel comfortable! Doh!

Those options both sound lovely! I'm sure you'll look great. Still grey here, black tights it is!

Simple dress dressed up a bit ideal but if not think trousers smartened up better than a maxi - though not sure where hotel is - eg Central London?

Have a great time.
