How to disguise a small patch of grey roots

WebbedPuddles · 04/07/2014 15:45

I have my hair professionally coloured regularly and for a couple of weeks it looks fab Smile

But then I get a smallish section of grey root showing on top of my head. I do all sorts of wiggly partings etc which disguises some of it, but there's always a section of nasty grey roots showing.

Any products - magic powders or potions - that you can suggest?

Coloured dry shampoo

(But don't scratch your head unless you want to look like you've been digging spuds in the garden)

The Nice N Easy root touch up kit is great and very easy and quick. I used to use that to get me through to the next full dye job.

I stopped dyeing completely in January though and that's even easier and quicker Grin .

WOW from QVC looks good - plus you can return it for a refund within 30 days if it doesn't work for you.

I use Colour Wow - a powder you apply to the grey roots with a brush. Sounds rubbish but actually works. I bought it from Space Nk. About £25 but lasts forever.

I use hair mascara most mornings - never hsd a problem and its about £5 off ebay. I think I would make mistakes with dye wheress this just washes off and you only put it where it shows.
do go for a shade lighter thsn your hair as that seems to blend better.

Superdrug coloured dry shampoo

Greengardenpixie · 04/07/2014 17:02

Root touch up is what i use. Its good and lasts a number of weeks. I bought 3 boxes from amazon and it was about £12 or so. Good between dying your hair fully.

Maidupmum · 04/07/2014 18:06

WillowMoo · 04/07/2014 22:14

Yes Josh Wood from M&S comes out quite dark though :-)

\link{http://uk.spacenk.com/root-cover-up/MUK200010811.html\space nk do it too, it seems quite good i tried in the shop}

Nospringflower · 05/07/2014 15:04

I have just got the WOW stuff and think its really good. Only hard part is doing it at my crown and also if you washed your hair every day it would be a pain having to redo it every morning. For me it's great though.

Ilovenicesoap · 05/07/2014 16:39

Tween Times ( yes twee name!) a crayon stick that you wet and then use to colour in the roots.
About £4 from Amazon.

Its brilliant and washes out. I bought it a couple of years ago and its still going.

There is also a spray by Charles Worthington but I can't seem to get hold of it. Boots.com stock it but they are out of stock.
